Abstract (Croatian)
Stoga govorimo o njegovoj primjeni u Jehovinih svjedoka.
Abstract (English)
Jehovah's witnesses are a religious community known for their special requirements concerning hematological and transfusion therapy. This group of patients refuses transfusion of whole blood and its derivates as a treatment option, therefore a special attention has been given to define the alternative drugs used in the prevention and treatment of anemia, as well as planning and performing diagnostic and surgical operations. In addition to the iron containing drugs and other therapeutical options, Jehovah's witnesses have accepted human recombinant erythropoetin as an alternative to transfusion, therefore we comment its applications in this group of patients.
