Type 2 diabetes is caused by two main causes, namely: relative lack of insulin and cell resistance to the same. It is a more frequent incidence of older and obese persons, but has also been diagnosed in recent years with young people, due to unpleasant life habits. The main criteria for diagnosis are: glucose uptake >7 mmol / L, 2 hours after OGTT test> 11.1 mmol / L in any random sample >11.1 mmol / L. If not treated in time, it leads to numerous complications, in this case also to diabetic nephropathy. Between 25 and 45% of all people with childhood diseases have nephropathy which is a risk factor for the terminal phase of cardiovascular failure and cardiovascular disease. Therefore, it is important to monitor and treat the risk factors for its development, namely: glycolized hemoglobin levels, elevated blood pressure and lipid levels, and albuminuria findings. When nephropathy has already developed, emphasis is put on control of the condition itself to avoid dialysis as a result of the last stage of chronic cardiovascular disease. Renal disease can be slowed down by strict control of glycemia, dyslipidemia and blood pressure, lifestyle modification and smoking cessation. As a rule, patients with kidney disease have developed some other complications of diabetes, either microvascular or macrovascular.
