Today we differently experience the concept of food because food is no longer considered as a source of energy alone, but must provide a sense of pleasure and satisfaction with eating meals. But the unwillingness to develop awareness and raise the concept of food to a higher level, we still have to emphasize and warn of the health of the same. One of the reasons why the presence of pesticides is under the influence of the public, because if we do not control them, they can have a detrimental impact on human health to this end, this graduate thesis was developed in which the presence of organoclorinate pesticides was examined in eleven food samples randomly selected in the Konzum supermarket in Rijeka. During the sample analysis, the methods of extraction, reextraction, degradation, purification, GPC and GC-ECD were used. The obtained results indicate the presence of pesticides in the tested food samples, but the level of pesticides is below the maximum permissible concentration (MPC). According to the results it can be concluded that the food samples do not have harmful effect on human health. Food testing was conducted at the Teaching Instituteof Public Health of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County at the Department of Health and Ecology with the help of the staff of the Institute.
