Abstract
Briga o mentalnom zdravlju mladih te njegovo očuvanje i zaštita važni su aspekti svakog modernog društva. Strategije promocije mentalnog zdravlja mladih nužne su radi prevencije različitih oblika mentalnih poremećaja, velikog javnozdravstvenog problema diljem svijeta. Sukladno tome, nameće se nužnost intenziviranja zdravstveno-obrazovnih aktivnosti i proširenja društvenog djelovanja s ciljem destigmatizacije i prevencije mentalnih poremećaja u sklopu primarne zdravstvene zaštite. Brojni čimbenici imaju učinak na mentalno zdravlje pojedinca, a uključuju biološke, socijalne i psihološke čimbenike. Bitno je pravovremeno i pravilno identificirati rizične čimbenike i planirati intervencije s ciljem kontrole tih rizičnih čimbenika, zajednički nazvano primarnom prevencijom. Sekundarna prevencija usmjerena je ranom otkrivanju mentalnih poremećaja i njihovom odgovarajućem i pravovremenom liječenju s ciljem smanjenja nepovoljnih ishoda. Vrlo je važno provoditi i mjere tercijarne prevencije s osvrtom na reintegraciju osoba s mentalnim poremećajima u društvo, omogućavanje svakodnevnog funkcioniranja, smanjenje utjecaja bolesti te pomoć u prevenciji relapsa i odgodi daljnjih komplikacija mentalnih poremećaja. Edukativne radionice i programi te Centri za mlade, koji djeluju u sustavu zaštite školske djece i studenta, odličan su primjer sustavnog rješavanja problema s kojima se susreću djeca, adolescenti i njihovi roditelji te podizanja svijesti o mentalnom zdravlju na razini zajednice.
Abstract (english)
Caring for the mental health of young people and its preservation and protection are important aspects of any modern society. Strategies to promote the mental health of young people are therefore necessary to prevent various forms of mental disorders, a major public health problem around the world. Accordingly, there is a need to intensify health education activities and expand social action with the aim of destigmatization and prevention of mental disorders in primary health care. A number of factors have an effect on an individual’s mental health, including biological, social and psychological factors. It is important to identify risk factors in a timely and correct manner and plan interventions to control these risk factors, collectively called primary prevention. Secondary prevention is aimed at early detection of mental disorders and their appropriate and timely treatment in order to reduce adverse outcomes. It is very important to implement tertiary prevention measures to reintegrate people with mental disorders into society, enable daily functioning, reduce the impact of the disease and help to prevent relapse and delay further complications of mental disorders. Educational workshops and programs, as well as Youth Centers, which operate in the system of care for school children and students, are an excellent example of systemic solving of problems children, adolescents and their parents face, and raising awareness of mental health at the community level.
