Abstract
IC je kronična bolest mokraćnog mjehura koja najčešće zahvaća žene srednje životne dobi, a može biti prisutna i u muškaraca i u mlađih pacijenata. U etiologiji se spominju mnogi endogeni i egzogeni patofiziološki mehanizmi iako nije poznat točan uzrok bolesti. Klinička manifestacija uključuje perzistentnu bol i osjećaj pritiska u području mokraćnog mjehura praćene frekventnim i urgentnim mokrenjem, a mogu biti prisutne i nokturija i polakisurija. Terapijski postupci baziraju se na simptomatskom liječenju koje uključuje promjenu prehrane, tjelovježbu, razne metode fizikalne terapije, medikamentoznu terapiju i intravezikalnu primjenu ljekovitih pripravaka, a u krajnjem slučaju i kirurško liječenje. S obzirom da ne postoji etiološko liječenje bolesti, simptomi često perzistiraju i nakon provedene terapije što značajno narušava kvalitetu života oboljelih.
Abstract (english)
IC is a chronic bladder disease that most commonly affects middle-aged women and can be present in both men and younger patients. Many endogenous and exogenous pathophysiological mechanisms are mentioned in the etiology, although the exact cause of the disease is not known. The clinical manifestation includes persistent pain and a feeling of pressure in the bladder area accompanied by frequent and urgent urination, and nocturia and pollakiuria may be present. Therapeutic procedures are based on symptomatic treatment that includes a change in diet, exercise, various methods of physical therapy, drug therapy and intravesical administration of drugs, and ultimately surgical treatment. Since there is no etiological treatment of the disease, the symptoms often persist even after the therapy, which significantly impairs the quality of life of patients.
