Abstract
Usna šupljina je kompleksan dio ljudskog tijela, pomoću nje komuniciramo, osjećamo razne vrste okusa, zapoćinjemo s probavom, te najvaţnije ima veliki utjecaj na opće zdravlje organizma. Zbog toga je vaţno da usna šupljina u potpunosti bude zdrava, odrţavanje oralne higijene pomoću odreĎenih sredstava kao što su četkice, interdentalne četkice, interdentalni konac, čistaći jezika te vodeni tuševi pomaţu u njezinom očuvanju. Vaţnost pravilnog korištenja ovih stredstava moţe se naučiti prilikom posjeta stomatološkom timu koji osim što se bavi čišćenjem i sanacijom u ustima, daje upute i demonstarcije za pravilno odrţavanje usne šupljine, pravilnu upotrebu mehaničkih, pomoćnih mehaničkih i specijalno pomoćnih mehaničkih sredstava. Mehaničkim čišćenjem uklanja se dentobakterijski plak sa površina zuba, interdentalnih površina i gingive. Za takve postupke je potrebno dosta vremena zato je vrlo vaţna motivacija pacijenata koja se postiţe upozorenjem pacijenata na moguće posljedice kao što su gingivitis i parodontitis, te dobrom edukacijom i redovitim stomatološkim kontrolama.
Abstract (english)
The oral cavity is a complex part of the human body, we use it to communicate, feel different types of tastes, start digestion, and most importantly, it has a great impact on the general health of the body. It is therefore important that the oral cavity is completely healthy, maintaining oral hygiene with certain means such as brushes, interdental brushes, interdental floss, tongue cleaners and water showers help to preserve it. The importance of proper use of these products can be learned during a visit to the dental team which, in addition to cleaning and repairing the mouth, gives instructions and demonstrations for proper maintenance of the oral cavity, proper use of mechanical, auxiliary mechanical and special auxiliary mechanical means. Mechanical cleaning removes dentobacterial plaque from tooth surfaces, interdental surfaces and gingiva. Such procedures take a lot of time, so it is very important to motivate patients by warning patients about the possible consequences such as gingivitis and periodontitis, as well as good education and regular dental check-ups.
