... More aluminosilikatno staklo s visokim udjelom fluora, odnosno kalcijsko-aluminijski-fluoro-silikat (SiO2 – Al2O3 – AlF – CaF2 – NaF – AlPO4 – NaAlF6).
Less
Abstract (english) Glass-ionomers (GIC) are two-component system consisting of powder and liquid parts. These are cements, which occur as a product of the acid - base reaction between acidic and basic polymer glass.
Only if they met all three definitions (an acidic polymer, glass and acid – base reaction), such material is GIC. Liquid GIC is 47.5% water solution of several acids (poliakril acid, itaconic acid copolymer and tartar acid.)
Powder is aluminosilicat glass with high fluorine or
... More calcium-aluminum-fluoro-silicate (SiO2 - Al2O3 - ALF - CaF2 - NaF - AlPO4 - NaAlF6).
GIC is classified with respect to physical and mechanical properties (type I, II and III) and chemical properties of a conventional GIC, highly-viscous GIC, metal-reinforced GIC, resin- modified GIC, light- activated self-curing GIC, resin-reinforced self-curing GIC, rapid self-curing GIC.
Curing reaction is a complex chemical reaction that depends on the composition and size of the powder particles as well as composition, molecular weight and concentration of liquids.
For correct course of reaction it is essential to have correct ratio of powder and liquid, according to the manufacturer's instructions. For better adhesion and chemical svezivanja GIC for hard tissues, tooth surface should be conditioned. For this purpose we use 10 -25% poliakril acid. Freshly mixed cement is applied to the tooth surface, with plastic instruments (a probe or a small compactor).
Metal instruments are not recommended due to ionization. If the GIC material is for permanent restoration, the conventional GIC is protected from moisture or drying varnish. Less
