Abstract
Kronični periapikalni procesi su bolesti bez izraţenih simptoma, karakterizirane oštećenjem parodontnog ligamenta te resorpcijom cementa na korijenu zuba i alveolarne kosti. U ovoj skupini bolesti, iznimka je kondezirajući ostitis koji predstavlja porast trabekularne kosti periapikalnog tkiva. Etiološki, kronični periapikalni procesi nastaju od mehaničkih, kemijskih ili mikrobioloških iritacija. Poznavanje periapikalnih patoloških promjena te analiza anamnestičkih, kliničkih i radioloških postupaka je od iznimne vaţnosti doktoru dentalne medicine radi postavljanja ispravne dijagnoze. Terapija je endodontski zahvat koji obuhvaća uklanjanje inficiranog tkiva, dezinfekciju, oblikovanje i punjenje korijenskog kanala.
Abstract (english)
Chronic apical processes are diseases that have no recognizable symptoms and are characterized with destruction of periodontal ligaments and the resorption of cement on the root of the teeth and the alveolar bone. In this group of diseases, the exception is condensing osteitis, which represents an increase in the trabecular bone of the periapical tissues. Etiologically, chronic periapical processes can arise from mechanical, chemical or microbiological irritation. Knowledge of periapical pathological changes and the analysis of medical history, as well as clinical and radiological procedures, are essential for the process of forming the correct diagnosis. Therapy is endodontic treatment which includes the removal of infected tissue, disinfection, shaping and filling of the root canal.
