Abstract
Traumatske ozljede zubi su česte kod bavljenja sportom, a što je sport kontaktniji to je veći rizik od nastanka ozljede zubi. Oštećenja zubi mogu biti vrlo teška, a posljedice se mogu odražavati tijekom cijelog života kako na fizički tako i na psihički razvoj djeteta. Ozljede zubi tijekom sportskih aktivnosti mogu se prevenirati nošenjem štitnika za zube, a ukoliko dođe do ozljede zuba treba se pružiti adekvatna pomoć kako bi se zub sačuvao u zubnom nizu. Ovim istraživanjem obuhvaćeno je 80 sportaša (djece) koji treniraju različite kontaktne sportove bez sportskih rekvizita (boks, kickboxing, taekwondo, judo) i 80 njihovih roditelja. Istraživanje je provedeno uz pomoć dva anketna upitnika koja su sadržavala demografska pitanja, osobna ili djetetova iskustva s traumatskim ozljedama, znanje o traumatskim ozljedama zuba te želja za edukacijom o toj problematici u budućnosti. Rezultati istraživanja su pokazali da je vlastito iskustvo s traumom imalo 10% sportaša, od čega se 25% trauma dogodilo tijekom bavljenja sportom, a traumatiziran je bio samo jedan zub. S obzirom na spol, samo muški sportaši su doživjeli traumu tijekom bavljenja sportom. Kod svih ispitanika s traumatskom ozljedom zuba to je bila prva ozljeda zubi. Istraživanjem je utvrđeno da sportaši imaju nedovoljno, a njihovi roditelji osrednje znanje o traumatskim ozljedama zuba i terapijskim postupcima koji se moraju poduzeti u slučaju traumatske ozljede zuba. Također, većina ispitanika u toku dosadašnjeg obrazovanja nije informirano ni educirano o zbrinjavanju traumatskih ozljeda zuba, ali su svjesni važnosti edukcije o traumatskim ozljedama zuba te se žele educirati o toj problematici u budućnosti.
Abstract (english)
Traumatic teeth injuries are common in sports, and if a sport is more contact, there is a greater risk of the teeth injury. Teeth damage can be very difficult, and the consequences can be reflected throughout life to the physical and psychological development of the child. Teeth injuries during sports activities can be prevented by wearing a mouthguard, and if an injury occurs, it should provide adequate help in order to preserve the tooth in the dental arch. The research included 80 athletes (children) who train different contact sports without sports equipment (boxing, kickboxing, taekwondo, judo) and 80 of their parents. The research was conducted with the help of two questionnaires that contained demographic questions, personal or child's experience with traumatic injuries, knowledge of traumatic injuries of teeth and the desire for education on this issue in the future. The results showed that their own experience with trauma had 10% of athletes, of which 25% of trauma occurred during sports and traumatized was only one tooth. With regard to gender, only male athletes have experienced trauma during sports. In all patients with teeth trauma, that was the first teeth injury. The survey found that athletes don’t have enough, and their parents have mediocre knowledge about traumatic teeth injuries and therapeutic procedures that must be taken in the case of teeth trauma. Also the majority of respondents during their former education was not informed nor educated about the treatment of traumatic injuries of teeth, but are aware of the importance of eduction of traumatic injuries of teeth and are looking to educate themselves on this issue in the future.
