Abstract
Francisella tularensis vrlo je infektivna, fakultativna gram-negativna unutarstanična bakterija koja može uzorkovati smrtonosnu bolest, tularemiju, opisanu u ljudi i životinja. Bakterija je sposobna preživjeti u različitim uvijetima te, pritom, zadržati svoju virulentnost. Kao unutarstanični organizam, ima složen životni ciklus koji joj osigurava proliferaciju i preživljavanje u različitim tipovima stanica sisavaca. Rod Francisella sadrži pet vrsta: F. tularensis, F. philomiragia, F. hispaniensis, F. noatunesis i F. novicida. U ovom istraživanju, pratili smo učinkovitost tri dezinficijensa (5%-tni Asepsol eko, 0,2%-tni Bigvasan i 1%-tni Descocid) na smanjenje rasta F. novicida nakon izlaganja različitim vremenskim periodima ( 10 sekundi, 1 minuta, 5, 10 i 15 minuta). Naši rezultati pokazuju da 5%-tni Asepsol potpuno inhibira rast bakterija, bez obzira na vrijeme izloženosti. Nasuprot tome, broj bakterija F. novicida ostao je isti nakon djelovanja 0,2%-tnog Bigvasana i 1%-tnog Descocida u vremenu od 10 sekundi. Međutim, niži bakterijski porast zabilježen je u produženom vremenu djelovanja (1 minuta, 5, 10 i 15 minuta). Možemo zaključiti kako 5%-tni Asepsol pokazuje baktericidnu aktivnost prema F. novicida, dok 0,2%-tni Bigvasan i 1%-tni Descocid samo smanjuju broj bakterijskih kolonija nakon izloženosti od 1 minute, 5, 10 i 15 minuta.

Francisella tularensis is a highly infectious, facultative gram-negative intracellular bacterium that can cause a deadly disease, tularemia, described in humans and animals. The bacterium is able to survive in different temperature and environmental conditions, while retaining its virulence. As intracellular organism with a complex intracellular lifecycle that ensures its proliferation and survival in variety of mammalian cell types. Five species of the genus Francisella has been recognized: F. tularensis, F. philomiragia, F. hispaniensis, F. noatunensis and F. novicida. In this study, we investigated the effectiveness of three disinfectants (5% Asepsol eko, 0,2% Bigvasan and 1% Descocid) on reducing the growth of F. novicida after exposure to different times (10 seconds, 1 minute, 5, 10 and 15 minutes). Our results showed that 5% of Asepsol completley inhibit bacterial growth regardless the time of exposure. In contrast, when suspension of F. novicida was exposed to 0,2% Bigvasan and 1% Descocid, bacteria survived (10 seconds). However, bacterial growth was determined when bacterial suspension was exposed after 1 minute, 5,10 and 15 minutes. We can conclude that 5% Asepsol shows the bactericide activity to F. novicida, while 0,2% Bigvasan and 1% Descocid only reduce the number of bacterial colonies.
