Abstract
Endodontski tretirani zubi često trebaju protetsku opskrbu. Prije preparacije doktor dentalne medicine treba imati rendgenogram dotičnog zuba. Pomoću rendgenograma ocjenjujemo uspjeh endodontske terapije, vidimo broj korijenskih kanala, njihovu duljinu i oblik, te se odlučujemo za vrstu nadogradnje. Nadogradnje mogu biti lijevane (individualne) i konfekcijske. Konfekcijske nadogradnje se koriste češće i mogu biti metalne i estetske. Bezmetalne nadogradnje su sve prisutnije zbog odličnih estetskih i fizikalnih svojstava, ali i zbog jednostavnosti i brzine primjene te financijske pristupačnosti. Dijele se na keramičke i kompozitne sustave. Keramički sustavi su estetski odlični, ali zbog visokog modula elastičnosti teško ih je površinski obrađivati. Kompozitni sustavi ojačani staklenim vlaknima posjeduju modul elastičnosti sličan dentinu, ne korodiraju i estetski su. Moguća je izrada i cementiranje pri jednom posjetu. U slučaju fraktura nadogradnje ili potrebe za revizijom punjenja korijenskog kanala uklanjanje je jednostavno. Osim širine, duljine i vrste nadogradnje, za dobru retenciju bitno je korištenje kompozitnih cemenata i adhezijskih sustava. Kompozitne nadogradnje pojačane staklenim vlaknima zajedno s odgovarajućim cementima i dentalnim materijalima za izradu koronarnog dijela nadogradnje su sredstvo izbora za rekonstrukciju zuba nakon endodontskog tretmana.

Endodontically treated teeth often need a prosthetic rehabilitation. Before being restored, doctor of dental medicine must have x-ray record of teeth. With X-ray record we can evaluate the success of endodontic therapy, analyze number of coronar canals, their lenght and configuration and we make decidion which post and core we will use. Endodontic posts and core can be caste (individually) made or prefabricated. Prefabricated posts are used frequenty and they can be metal posts and posts made of estetical materials. Metal free post and core are being used due to their excellent aesthetic and physical characteristics, but as due to their simpe and fast application and affordable price. They divided into ceramic and compozite composition. Ceramics posts are aesthetically excellent, but due to high modul of elasticity, , they are hard for superficially processing. Fiber –reinforces composite posts have elastic moduls similar to that of dentine, do not corrode and apart from being aesthetic. It is possible in one single visite for post fabrication and cementation. In case of fracture or endodontic re-treatment, the removal of is simple. In addition to width, length and type of post, for maximal retention is essential to use composite cement and adhesive system.
