Abstract
Trombocitima bogat fibrin (PRF) je trombocitni koncentrat s 3D-strukturom (fibrinska mrežica) u kojoj su uklopljeni trombociti, faktori rasta i citokini, koji mogu biti otpušteni nakon nekog vremena. To je autologni krvni derivat koji povoljno djeluje na hemostazu i regeneraciju tkiva. Sadrži faktore rasta kao što su faktor rasta porijeklom iz trombocita (PDGF), transformirajući faktor rasta (TGF-β1) i faktor rasta sličan inzulinu (IGF-I i IGF-II) koji sudjeluju u staničnoj migraciji, proliferaciji i diferencijaciji. PRF predstavlja drugu generaciju trombocitnih koncentrata, predstavljenu 2001. Produkti trombocita koriste se u terapiji kliničkih slučajeva koji zahtijevaju cijeljenje rane i regeneraciju tkiva. Neka područja njihove primjene uključuju: parodontnu, oralnu, maksilofacijalnu i plastičnu kirurgiju, otorinolaringologiju, ortopediju i dermatologiju. PRF se može kombinirati s drugim regenerativnim tehnikama. Područja primjene PRF-a u dentalnoj medicini su: vođena regeneracija kostiju, vođena regeneracija tkiva, cijeljenje mekih tkiva u mukogingivalnoj kirurgiji te revitalizacija zuba s nekrotičnom pulpom i nezavršenom apeksogenezom. Najveće prednosti upotrebe PRF-a su: dostupnost pacijentima, jednostavnost pripreme i minimalna trauma.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a platelet concentrate with a three dimensional architecture (fibrin matrix) in which platelets, growth factors and cytokines are trapped and may be released after a certain time. It is an autologous blood-derived biomaterial which favor hemostasis and tissue repair. It contains growth factors like platelet derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor β1 (TGF β1) and insulin like growth factor (IGF-I and IGF-II) that are involved in cell migration, cell proliferation and cell differentiation. PRF is the second-generation of platelet concentrates, first presented in 2001. Platelet products are used for clinical and surgical applications which require hemostasis and tissue regeneration. Some fields in which it may be used are: periodontal, oral, maxillo-facial and plastic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, orthopedic and dermatology. PRF can be combined with other regenerative techniques. Areas of PRP application in dental medicine are: guided bone regeneration, guided tissue regeneration, healing of the soft tissue in mucogingival surgery and revitalization of tooth with necrotic pulp and open apex. The most significant advantages of PRF are: availability to patients, ease of preparation and minimized trauma.
