Abstract
Neki metali prolaze redoks ciklus stvarajući slobodne radikale i uzrokujući oksidacijski stres koji može rezultirati genotoksičnošću. Istražen je in vitro oksidacijski stres ortodontskih žičanih lukova izrađenih od različitih legura. Mišji fibroblasti L929 iloženi su djelovanju šest tipova žičanih lukova te je izmjerena koncentracija biljega oksidacijskog stresa 8 -hidroksi-2 deoksigvanozina (8 oHdG) u DNA.

Several metals undergo redox cycling producing free radicals and generating oxidative stress that may result in genotoxicity. In vitro oxidative stress of orthodontic archwires made of different alloys was investigated. Mouse fibroblast cells L929 were exposed to six types of archwires and the concentration of oxidative stress marker 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8OHdG) was evaluated.
