Abstract
Svrha ovog rada bila je upoznati SIC-e. To su materijali koji se u posljednjem desetljeću najčešće primjenjuju zahvaljujući dobroj adheziji na zubno tkivo, karijes protektivnom učinku, biokompatibilnosti te jednostavnom rukovanju. Zahvaljujući kemijskoj vezi koju ostvaruju sa tvrdim zubnim tkivima i otpuštanju fluora, uvelike se razlikuju od ostalih materijala za ispune. Osnovne komponente su mu prašak i tekućina, a stvrdnjavaju se reakcijom acido- bazne neutralizacije. Podijeljeni su prema sastavu (Hickel) i prema načinu primjene (Albers). Od početnog sastava, kod klasičnih SIC, nije se mijenjala osnova već su dodavane komponente da bi im se poboljšala mehanička svojstva. SIC- i se koriste u restaurativnoj dentalnoj medicini, endodonciji, dječjoj dentalnoj medicini, parodontologiji i ortodonciji. Svaki doktor dentalne medicine trebao bi poznavati osnovna svojstva i način rukovanja ovim cementima da bi mogao iskoristiti njihov potencijal. Novija istraživanja se temelje na unaprjeđenju njihovih mehaničkih svojstava i estetike, da bi u potpunosti mogli konkurirati drugim estetskim materijalima.

Parallel abstract (English)
The purpose of this study was to introduce GIC. These materials have been widely used in last decade due of good adhesion on hard dental tissues, caries protective effects, biocompatibility and easy handling. Due to chemical connection, which is formed with hard dental tissues and fluor dissmision, they greatly differ from other filling materials. The basic components are powder and liquid, which cure with acid- base chemical reaction of neutralization. Classification is based on their structure (Hickel) and uses (Albers). From the initial composition, in classic GIC, they did not change the basis, but some components were added to improve mechanical properties. Therefore, these materials, which were avoided in the beginning by clinicians, today have founded application in all branches of dentistry. Every dentist should know basic properties and operating mode with these cements, so their potential can be fully used. Recent researches are based on improvement of their mechanical properties, so they can compete with other aesthetic materials.
