Abstract
U dentalnoj medicini je u upotrebi široka paleta cemenata za cementiranje fiksnih protetskih radova za strukturu zuba. Od doktora dentalne medicine se očekuje poznavanje svojstava i vrsta dentalnih cemenata, kako bi se osigurala dugotrajnost cementirane restauracije. Cementiranje predstavlja posljednju fazu u izradi fiksno protetskog nadomjestka. Na izgled jednostavan postupak može uslijed nepoznavanja kvalitete cementa koji primjenjujemo, dužine vremena vezanja, debljine sloja, otapanja i prijanjanja za zubni bataljak dovesti u pitanje korektno izrađeni protetski rad. Cement je oduvijek bio najslabija karika u sistemu zub-cement-fiksno protetski rad. Poznavanje kemijskih, fizikalnih i bioloških osobitosti pojedinih vrsta cementa od osobitog je značaja.

Dentistry uses a wide range of cements to retain crowns, posts and fixed partial dentures to tooth structure. Dental practitioners should have a good understanding of the properties and categories of dental cements to ensure the long-term clinical performance of cemented restorations. Cementation is the final stage in the development of fixed prosthetic restorations. Seemingly simple process can be due to lack of quality of cement that we use, the length of time of binding, thickness, dissolution and adhering to the prepared tooth question correctly made prosthetic work. Cement has always been the weakest link in the system of the tooth-cement-fixed prosthodontics work. Knowledge of the chemical, physical and biological characteristics of individual types of cement is of particular importance.
