Abstract (croatian)
Parkinsonova je bolest iza Alzheimerove bolesti druga najčešća kronična neurodegenerativna bolest. Nakon prvog opisa bolesti dr. Jamesa Parkinsona 1817. godine u eseju o „drhtavoj paralizi“ naše znanje i razumijevanje te bolesti povećali su se na svim poljima – od genetike, patologije, patofiziologije, dijagnostike i liječenja. To je heterogena i vrlo kompleksna bolest. U ovom ćemo članku ukratko opisati nove spoznaje u svim segmentima Parkinsonove bolesti.
Abstract (english)
Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder after Alzheimer’s disease. Since the disorder was first formally described in 1817 in the Essay on the Shaking Palsy by doctor James Parkinson, our knowledge and understanding of this disease have increased in all areas, from genetics, pathology and pathophysiology to diagnostics and treatment. It is a very complex heterogenic disease. This paper outlines new insights in all segments of Parkinson’s disease.
