Abstract

Aims of research: to determine the proportion of men and women who were, following the acute myocardial infarction, in surgical revascularization of the heart and hospitalized in the intensive care unit, site of Susak, Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka, in the period from January 2014 to August 2014, to establish their the value of troponin after surgery in the first and fifth hour and compare it with each other, compare world literature with the results. Examinees and actions: This retrospective study included 99 patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit, the site of Susak, Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka. Patients were treated with surgical revascularization of the heart, and they had bypasses impanted. Results: From a total of 99 patients, there were 75 males (75.7%) and 24 females (24.3%), a total of 72 patients (72.7%) was without the use of any apparatus "heart-lung", while 27 patients were connected to the apparatus "heart-lung" (27.3%). The mean of troponin were measured in on-pump group, and those were in the first hour 320±233 ng / mL and in the fifth hour 484±357 ng / ml. Conclusion: of a total number of patients, 75.7% were men, the majority of patients were not operated using the "heart-lung" apparatus and the higher mean value of troponin was measured in a on-pump group of patients.
