Abstract (Croatian)
Abstract (English)
Microdeletions of the Y chromosome in the AZF region are a possible genetic factor of male infertility. They are found in about 7% of infertile men. The molecular detection of microdeletions is widely accepted in infertility treatments as there is an advance in methods of assisted reproduction and because microdeletions are transmitted to 100% of male offspring. Patients with the highest risk of microdeletion are those with azoospermia or severe oligozoospermia. The study of microdeletions is very useful in adopting an appropriate strategy in providing genetic counselling to the affected couples. We preliminary analysed 75 patients in the study
