Abstract (Croatian)
Prvom transplantacijom bubrega izvedenom 30. siječnja 1971. u KB “Dr. Zdravko Kučić’’, Rijeka, započela je era transplantacijske medicine u nas. Stečena nova znanja omogu}ćla su daljnji razvoj transplantacijske medicine u Hrvatskoj. Bolja organizacija, multidisciplinarna suradnja i financijska potpora transplantacijskom programu, prije svega programu transplantacije organa umrle osobe, stvaraju dobre uvjete rada. Transplantacija organa umrle osobe, posebno bubrega, poboljšava kvalitetu života bolesnika i nije toliko skupa kao liječenje dijalizom. Rezultati preživljavanja presatka i bolesnika slični su rezultatima CTS-a (suradnja – multicentri~na transplantacijska studija) – Heidelberg. Zbog svega toga potrebno je nastaviti s usavršavanjem transplantacijskog programa. No program, a time i nacionalni zdravstveni interes, može se ostvariti jedino uz izraženu multidisciplinarnu suradnju
Abstract (English)
The first kidney transplantation performed on January 30th 1971 opened a new era in transplantation medicine at the University Hospital “Dr. Zdravko Ku~i}’’ in Rijeka. The knowledge acquired from first experiences enabled a further development of transplantation medicine in Croatia. Good work environment and better results can be achieved with a better organization, multidisciplinary collaboration and the financial support to the transplantation program. Cadaver organ transplantation, especially kidney transplantation, improves patients’ life quality and is also less expensive when compared to dialysis treatment. Graft and patient survival in our clinic is similar to the results presented in the Heidelberg CTS (Collaborative Transplant Study). A further development of the transplantation program is our primary and most important challenge and obligation. But the program and, with it, the national health care, can only be achieved through a multidisciplinary collaboration
